  A guide to how students will be evaluated on their use of German in the classroom
Students will have many opportunities to use German in both structured activities and open ended conversations.  I use a number system that will be converted to the equivalent of the following grades.  You can see what the expectations for each level of achievement are below:

A

-consistently helps conversation move along
-uses a wide variety of vocabulary
-demonstrates consistently new learning
-enthusiastic


B

-responds to questions
-often attempts to move conversation along
-uses a variety of vocabulary
-shows considerable new learning


C

-usually responds to questions
-modest or intermittent attempt to keep conversation going
-occasionally shows new learning
-limited use of new vocabulary


D

-rarely responds to questions
-occasionally says something appropriate in German
-little or no attempt to keep conversations going
-nominal use of new vocabulary
