Students will have many opportunities to use German in both structured activities and open ended conversations. I use a number system that will be converted to the equivalent of the following grades. You can see what the expectations for each level of achievement are below: A -consistently helps conversation move along -uses a wide variety of vocabulary -demonstrates consistently new learning -enthusiastic B -responds to questions -often attempts to move conversation along -uses a variety of vocabulary -shows considerable new learning C -usually responds to questions -modest or intermittent attempt to keep conversation going -occasionally shows new learning -limited use of new vocabulary D -rarely responds to questions -occasionally says something appropriate in German -little or no attempt to keep conversations going -nominal use of new vocabulary
