Dear Parents,
I want to begin by thanking all of you for such positive, parent teacher conferences. I truly appreciate all the support expressed by so many of you. We had a great "field trip" to the Woodland Park Retirement Home. Your children sang, smiled and shared their bag full of "goodies" with the residents. To all the parents who accompanied us to the home, thank you for taking time out of your busy day!! A big "thank you" to Mrs. Tracy Wagner....who not only came in and taught your children the songs, but also played guitar for the children at the retirement home too. A big thank you to Mrs. Pelayo, who provided santa hats for all the children, and to Mrs. Gamwell, and Mrs. Patierno who provided and served donuts and milk upon our return to school on Monday. Thank you Mrs. Fitzgerald for the tangerines, and Mrs. Lisciandro for the last minute "bag fillers". Words are clearly not enough to thank all of you, but please know that I count my blessings daily, and that all of you parents are amongst them.
On the subject of blessings.....we have been asked to help support the St. Mel Parish sponsored charity. The charity we are helping is the Guadalupe Center, right here in Canoga Park. They are in need of food for distribution this Christmas. If you are able, count your own blessings and then share what you can.
1. Cereal in boxes, not small packets
2. Spaghetti, dry not cooked or canned
3. Macaroni and cheese
4. Tomato sauce and canned tomatoes (15 0z.)
5. Canned Fruit (peaches, pears, pineapple, and fruit cocktail
If you are able to help out with any of the items listed above, send them to the classroom, we will be collecting these thru next Wednesday or Thursday (18th).
More great news, first grade, 1-M , has won the pizza party...we will be served pizza, drink and ice cream, compliments of the library....This feast will occur next Thursday, December 18th. So don't forget, you do not need to pack a lunch that day, of course, unless your child doesn't like pizza.. Thank you for helping your child bring their library book back to school on time....Whoopee
May God Bless all of you, in this most blessed of seasons....... Cathy Genders
