Bayerische Rundfunk has a great children's lexicon covering all kinds of interesting topics.  Check it out below!

News for kids in German - "Tageschau," the TV news that Germans have followed for generations, now has a site for kids.  Look under "Tageschau für Kinder."  You can read and listen to interesting news reports here.

Are you a fan of Cornelia Funke, author of "The Thief Lord," "Inkheart," and "Dragon Rider"?  If so, you should take a look at her website - lots of great information about this German author.

GERMAN CULTURE

Visit the homes of children from other countries who live in Germany.  This site provides a wonderful peek at both German and other cultures as you take a virtual tour around their homes.  It's also a great way to review vocabulary about house and home.  Go to "Hinter 1000 und 1 Tür" and have fun exploring.

"Du bist Deutschland" is a campaign in Germany to raise awareness among Germans about what is worth celebrating in their country.

German has been spoken all over our country, and in many places is still the language spoken at home.  If you are interested in learning about and hearing German as it is spoken in its various dialects around the US, check out "American Languages" below.
