GENERAL LEVEL MATH AND ENGLISH - Mrs. Martin -- For daily homework assignments please go to my separate class page. A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER THIS YEAR... 1) Homework counts as 30%, quizzes as 30%, and tests as 40% towards the final grade of the quarter. 2) During the first few days of school, we will go over the proper way to place a heading on our school work. Because each teacher deals with more than 75 students, please be advised (and the students will be informed as well) that any paper without a heading will be discarded and the student will be given a "zero" for the assignment. When the student eventually turns in the assignment, a failing grade will be given. 3) The sixth grade late work policy is as follows: Any work not turned in on time will merit a "zero" in the gradebook until it is submitted. At that time, an "F" will be given. Exceptions may be given if a note with a legitimate reason is brought from home AT THE TIME THE ASSIGNMENT IS DUE. 4) When absent, a student has the number of days absent from school to make up and submit all missed work (as per handbook rule). STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING ANY MISSED WORK FROM THE RESPECTIVE TEACHERS OR FROM THE QUIA WEBSITE! 5) When a student receives a C- or lower on any given test, it must be signed by a parent and returned to the teacher within three days. Failure to do so will merit a lunch detention; these continue to accumulate throughout the school year! If you have any questions regarding information posted here, please do not hesitate to ask...
