Announcing Quia's affiliate program
Would you like to earn extra income by introducing people
to Quia? Our new affiliate program allows you to earn up to
$10 per subscriber. Is there a catch? Yes, but we think it's
a good one. To become an affiliate and earn commissions, you
must make Quia better. In other words, you'll give educators
who subscribe through you something more useful than
if they had subscribed on their own. Here's how this is possible...
Becoming an affiliate
Your first step is to create a collection of:
| • |
25 or more activities and quizzes, and/or |
| • |
200 or more quiz questions |
These materials, known as an activity set, must be
useful, focused, and accurate. If you've been using Quia
for a while already, you may have much of your activity
set already in place.
The next step is to apply to become an affiliate. You'll
submit your activity set to Quia, and, if it meets the quality
guidelines, you'll receive an affiliate code (a short word
followed by a number, like MATH85 or SPAN41). You'll also
get a personalized sign-up page on quia.com that you can
customize with your own banner image and welcome message.
How the affiliate codes work
When you tell people about Quia, give them your affiliate
code and ask them to enter it when they sign up for trial
accounts. Or, give them the URL of your sign-up page. When
trial users enter your code or use your sign-up page, they'll
receive a trial account pre-populated with all of the materials
in your activity set. This is how you're making Quia better:
you're giving those who subscribe through you a jump start.
Instead of beginning with an empty account, they'll have
a great bank of activities from day one.
Marketing your affiliate code
You can tell people about Quia in person (in workshops and
presentations, for instance), and you can also spread the
word online. If you have your own Web site, add a link to
your Quia sign-up page and let potential users know about
the special benefits they'll get by subscribing through
you.
One key to becoming a successful affiliate is using your
expertise to create activity sets that others will find
valuable. The more targeted and complete your set is, the
better. For example:
| • |
fourth-grade history activities and quiz questions
all correlated and labeled according to your state's
standards of learning |
| • |
activities covering grammar topics taught in first-year
Spanish |
| • |
quiz questions suitable for an introductory high school
chemistry course |
If you have multiple areas of expertise-say, business vocabulary
in both French and German-you can apply for separate affiliate
codes for each one. There is no limit to the number of affiliate
codes you can have.
